I work for amazon Prime delivery. I get up 5:30, and the stand up meeting start around 7:00, and I usually finished at 6 pm. When we drive into the warehouse start to load, they start to push and yelling saying how many minutes u have, which I got 290 packages to load into a stupid prime Van. They want us to finished load out in 15 minutes( maybe less) which is impossible. So you have to drive out of the warehouse after the siren on and load it outside, and eventually your van will full with packages and even a lightly aggressive turn will screw up the order of ur boxes and u have to take another 15 minutes to reorganized the van during your delivery. I used to run and drive Fast as F to get raise. Now I do get a little raise but I got ness and legs pain everyday, I got angry and frustrated when the delivering apps giving me the wrong direction(everyday), I started to smash and curse everything I see in the van. It’s not a good job and fun job to do. It’s physically abused, super pressured, and poor paid. We experience the same shit with amazon warehouses & Btw, F U Amazon.

The reason Amazon raised the minimum wage to 15 dollars per hour was because they substituted the wage raise for full time employees stock benefit. Before they raised the minimum wage, a full time employee earned 1 share of stock per year. Then they say they took a vote among employees and a majority decided to take an hourly raise rather than stock. I think It's all a lie, nobody voted. Now Only managers and up get stock. We all thought the world's richest man was helping people out, it turns out that he is helping him self. JEFF BEZOS IS A FUCKING PIG!!!

I find it annoying how John Oliver refuses to actually say capitalism is bad and just say that billionaires are created because of a computer error in capitalism when in fact capitalism is built to always have a class structure where there are rich people, people in the middle, and poor people

The bullshit on Twitter with their Amazon “FC Ambassadors” is a fucking farce. What company needs to have ambassadors to tell you that the work conditions are okay in their company?

I have a BA and deliver for Amazon. I actually like it. But yeah all of this is accurate. But that's why base pay is $15/hr.

The Warehouse in UPS is very similar when it comes to the speed of moving packages. My body is hurting me more than any other job I've ever had. It's all about the money honey.

Never ordered online anything. No amazon, no nothing. Bezos sells dildos to his ex. Wonder why? 🤫 personally I like to fire up my rickshaw and go to a brick and mortar store , pick my own items , then pay at the counter to a real live cashier and ask them ‘ how is their day? , how antiquated, huh?

There are suckers born every minutes, and there are suckers willing to take those stupid jobs. Those rich people got richer because people are scare and coward. They are scare of living in the street and they are too coward to admit that they have the same problems as everyone else. The first problem is that people are insecure, then the rich and ruthless people will exploit that vulnerability.

The 15th and 16th are prime days? But neither 15 nor 16 are primes. Why not go with 13 and 17 instead?

Ok, bleeding the heart for Amazon in order to change consumer behavior turning to them makes sense. Unions? Ask the auto and manufacturing industry how well that worked out for them. Oh, wait...

Here in Italy, Amazon damn near killed my 30 year old friend who worked there as a runner. This wonderful person was in great health, but was run ragged daily and suffered a horrible case of nervous exhaustion(yes, I know it's not deadly, but it did cause a severe loss all vitality) which caused the inability to work or do anything else for about a month or two after quitting. Nobody should be worked like this, no matter where or what job.

@Kingy88 Yeah, and referring to profiting from the labor of workers as winnings is further proof that capitalism is dead. That's why I don't get leftists talking about how capitalism is evil when the labor of your employees is raking in billions, but rather than pay it to them, you keep it for yourself to send giant dildos to space. That is not capitalism; it's peasantry.
Kingy88 10 днів тому
So that somehow justifies growing wage gaps in America and what is ostensibly wage slavery for no gain?

"converting my amazon winnings into space travel" not only is that so far removed from reality that he won't even associate it verbally with money, it's fucking stupid. there's really nothing better on earth you can think of? really? you would think he'd at least start with hair growth

@14:24 That right there. Ever wonder why they never open these big warehouses in metro cities with actual ordinances protecting employees? So they go to the burbs, cities with very little industry profiles and essentially pit these communities against each other for a $15hr job that should be paying $30hr. Fucking evil.

I appreciate John Oliver's extremely intelligent and sarcastic news coverage, I agree overwhelmingly with 90% of his overall values. I find his brand of humor and delivery of vital information that impacts the global community important and refreshing. One very difficult intellectual issue I cannot understand. His opinions of the attack on the twin towers and the demolition of building 7. Infront of the patriot act, the invasion of Arag, followed by Afghanistan. The overt denial of possible false flag action in the face of all the extreme political changes in America and the U.K. the known history of propaganda and the money trails behind those attacks seems from such intelligent reporting and objective views, somewhat disingenuous?
